Announcements

  • Community Turkey Dinner / Bazaar

    The Annual Thanksgiving Dinner is Saturday, November 11 in the Annex.  Tickets for the Turkey Dinner will be on sale in the church office from Monday, October 23 through Friday, November 10 at noon.  They will also be on sale at the front and east door entry of the church on Sunday, October 22, 29 and November 5.  They will also be sold at the Bazaar until 6:30, if tickets remain.  Meal serving times are 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30 p.m.  Adult ticket prices are $10, children 3-10 are $3, and children 0-2 are free.  We will be selling only 300 tickets this year, so get your tickets early!

    This year, as we did last year, we will be asking for money donations and pumpkin pies only.  With the money, we will buy the turkeys and other foods in commercial can sizes.  If donating by check, please make the check payable to Mt. Zion Presbyterian Women's Association.  

    The Bazaar and Bake Sale will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.  Please bring donated bake sale and/or craft items to be sold at the Bazaar from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10 or after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 11.

  • Noodles, Noodles, Noodles!

    Noodles are made Monday and Thursday mornings at 8:00 a.m. at the church.  Proceeds from the sale of the noodles goes to various projects with the church.  Donations of eggs and flour would be greatly appreciated!

     

  • Children's Christmas Fund

    The Children's Christmas Fund can use colored pencils  and 10 count Crayola Classic Markers.  Please bring your donations to the church.

  • 8th Annual Community Food Drive

    The 8th Annual Community Food Drive will be held Thursday, November 2 from 7:00 a.m. untill 6:00 p.m. and is sponsored by the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.  This drive benefits the Northeast Community Fund and the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Community Food Pantry.  Donated items may be dropped off at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1475 W. Main Street in Mt. Zion during the food drive hours.  All donations from the local churches will be given to the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Community Pantry.

  • Trunk or Treat October 31

    Trunk or Treat is Tuesday, October 31 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Annex.  Candy donations for this night are being accepted.  It is a great way to reach out to our community and for children to trick or treat on Halloween night in a safe environment.  We typicall have about 300 kids come through!  Bring your treats to the Annex, where tables will be set up with some decorations.  Please feel free to add your own.  You may start arriving at 5:00 p.m.

  • 6th Annual Community Prayer Breakfast

    The 6th Annual Mt. Zion Community Prayer Breakfast, at the Mt. Zion Convention Center, is Wednesday, October 25 from 7:00-8:00 a.m.  (Doors open at 6:30 a.m.)  Advance tickets of $10 are required and include a breakfast buffet.

  • Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Fund

    A link to the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Fund has been added to the Links Tab on the Website .  This will allow you to direct donations online to the fund or disaster you designate to assist.   

  • History Tab

    We have initiated a new column on the web site labeled the History Page.  Our first article is about the church bell.  Over time we will be bringing articles of the history of the church.  If you have history articles, pictures and such please contact:  Dave Rozanski, Aric Troll, Derin Rominger, or Jessica Sattley about them for adding to the history of our chuch community.

  • Updating Musicians List

    We are updating our list of musicians who want to participate in worship.  You can be novice/advanced, youth/senior, vocalist/instrumentalist, and have a short-term/long-term commitment.  Our string band will be forming again for the Worship in the Park Service on August 27, and welcome acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin, dulcimer, autoharp, fiddle, and other "old-timey" instrument players.  We are also updating our list for substitute organist/pianist.  If you or someone you know is interested in any of these music ministry opportunities, please contact the church office or Roma Allison.

  • Game Night

    Game Night will be 7:00 p.m. in Room 103 on Thursdays and 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall on Fridays. You are welcome to attend one or both nights. Our first game night will be Friday, September 8.

  • Military Bulletin Board Update

    We are updating our Military Bulletin Board.  If anyone has an immediate family member in the service, please bring a picture to the church office with their name and address included on the picture.

  • Women's Breakfast

    Women's Breakfast is Saturday, October 21 at 9:00 a.m. at Yoders in Arthur.  If you would like to carpool, meet at the church at 8:15 a.m.

  • Singles Supper Circle

    The Singles Supper Circle will meet Saturday, October 28 at the Masonic Temple at 6:00 p.m. for a Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre; $20.00 single / $35.00 couple.  Call Sally Dennis for reservations.   Saturday, November 11 we will patronize the Annual Turkey Dinner at the Church Annex.  Time is your choice and tickets are $10.00.

    December we will have a Mystery Outing; more information to follow.

  • Just a reminder

    Please list Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church and/or have a loved one call the Church when you are admitted to the hospital, so we will know you are there.

  • Men's Breakfast

    See you on the first Saturday of the month at 8 am in the fellowship hall. 

  • Liturgists - Coffee Hosts - Ushers/Greeters Needed

    If you would like to help on Sunday as a Liturgist, call Deacon Gene Nenortas; Coffee Host, call Deacon Mark Milnor; Usher/Greeter, call Deacon Erin Valentine.  There is also a sign-up sheets located on the bulletin board outside the choir room for Coffee Hosts and for Ushers/Greeters.

  • Pop Tabs

    Pleasant Grove Home Extension is collecting pop tab for the Ronald McDonald house.  Plastic containers are at the doors for the collection.

  • Nurse

    A Nurse will be available in the nursing office on the 1st Sunday of every month at 9:00 am between worship services to take blood pressures and answer medical questions.
